FAQs | Frequently Asked Questions
What is escape room Glasgow?
Riddle Rooms is an Escape room Glasgow. One of the first, and the biggest escape room centre, actually! But what is escape room Glasgow? The answer is simple. It's a Glasgow based indoors team activity for groups of 2-18, but most often teams of 2-6. You get locked in a themed room, where you need to find clues, solve puzzles and riddles to escape. Try our Glasgow escape room to find out for yourself what the hype is about! 🙂
Where is Riddle Rooms located?
Riddle Rooms is at 35 Bath Street, right in Glasgow city centre, a few minutes walk from Buchanan Street subway station. We have a direct entrance to our building with clear signage, very hard to miss! 🙂 Check us out on Google maps.
Is there an age restriction?
None of our escape rooms are strictly for adults, however we recommend a minimum age for some games based on themes of stories and nature of some puzzles. You'll find details on the "Rooms" page. For families with younger kids, we recommend the Spy Room and the Time Agent Room. For safety and comfort of teams, we require one adult to be present in every game except Party Room, in which case the adult is required to be on site whilst the game is ongoing.
How many people are allowed per team?
In general the size of teams we cater for is 2 to 18 in one game. In the “our escape rooms” section on the homepage, the size of the group is displayed for each game. Mansion Room is the largest with 18 players, Burns Room and Spy Room are good for 10 players maximum, and the smaller games are for up to 5 or 6 players. Party Room can take as many as 14 kids. There is no possibility to have more players in a game than the maximum number set.
I would like to play today, can I book online?
Our online booking system closes slots 4 hours before to allow our game moderators to arrive on site and prepare the room, as we don’t have staff waiting on site (unless they have games to moderate). If you’d like to play today at a time that’s less than 4 hours away, call us! We’ll try our best to host your team with a last minute booking.
I'm trying to book online on a mobile phone, but I can't seem to put in my payment details...
If your phone seems to cut off the input field where you need to type in your long card number, the expiry date and cvv, please try rotating the phone. Unfortunately it seems that the booking engine we use has a small user interface issue there - the long input field may get cropped on a mobile phone when held vertically. Try rotating the phone in a horizontal position to see the full length of that field. If you still experience issues, please call us and we will help you get your game booked!
Can I bring more people on the day than originally planned at the time of booking?
Yes, that is absolutely fine. You only need to pay the additional fee on the day by card, so please come prepared should you wish to invite more players to join your escape room than initially booked. Extra heads will only be accepted up to the maximum capacity of the given game.
If I book a game for a set number of people but on the day fewer show up, can I get a partial refund?
We cannot offer refunds for team members who didn't show up for the game, unfortunately. The reason behind it, is that issuing refunds actually costs us money and time, and if we'd offer this to all our customers, we would be in a pickle! If you're unsure about the number of people who will join you on the day, we suggest booking for the minimum number of people you are certain about. If more people join on the day than paid for, they can pay in the venue by card to join your team. (See the question above.) Thanks for understanding! 🙂
What time should we arrive on the day of our game?
Please arrive around 5-6 minutes before your escape game slot. This way, you will have enough time to use the bathrooms, use our lockers, hang your clothes, and of course, go through the introduction and game briefing. Arriving any earlier than that is not recommended to help avoid crowds in the waiting area.
What safety measures do you have to minimise risk of coronavirus infections?
We ask all customers to use hand sanitiser upon entry to our premises. We provide disinfectant soap in our toilets. We use ozone technology every night to sanitise air in our venue. We do not accept cash, only card payments accepted on site.
Can you be drunk in an escape room?
No, you can't. Individuals under influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied entry to the games. Our staff will apply their best fair judgement of the level of influence your team members are under. In such a case the fees paid for that person (or the full team) will be forfeited. This is a precautionary measure in protection of the drunk persons' health and safety, as well as our installations and properties. You'll find this to be the rule across all escape rooms Glasgow.
What happens, if we are late for the start time?
We booked a game, however we cannot make it now. What happens?
Is the venue accessible by wheelchair?
Unfortunately our venue is not wheelchair accessible. We are in the city centre of Glasgow in an old building, which has no lifts or ramps. We do have 2 games on the ground floor, out of which one game (Burns Room) is spacious enough to host a player in a wheelchair, as long as team members can help carry the player up 5 steps into the building (see image of the entrance in the contact section of the homepage).
I have claustrophobia, can I play?
Do you offer escape room gift vouchers?
Yes, we do! You can buy your gift vouchers right here on the website, and redeem it while booking online. Our escape room gift vouchers make great gifts for couples, families and friends.
Do you offer corporate team building experiences?

We have hosted many successful team building events, with a meeting room (& time) and coffee breaks included. Check out our corporate page for more information.
